Overview

The Director of Brand and Marketing oversees all digital marketing, communications, web development, and related strategies for a growth start-up. The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with our executive team to ensure growth through efficient and effective marketing & communication programs.

This position requires a combination of strategic planning, marketing execution and cross-functional team leadership. A passion for enabling enabling financial inclusion is a big plus.

Job Description

  • Develop high-level strategic decisions on growing our company and determining goals, roadmaps and budgets
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies

This position will identify partnership and sponsorship opportunities for the One World Identity platform and KNOW events network, assist partners and sponsors in achieving max results, and build strong relationships within the industry. This person needs to be a creative problem solver and self-driven in order to help take our partner and sponsor efforts to the next level.

This business development leader will develop, manage and close highly strategic partnerships and sponsorships with industry leading companies and individuals. This person will be responsible for the full lifecycle of these partners and sponsors – from the initial introduction through nurturing the relationship and closing deals.

  • Help identify the short list of named partners that represent strategic opportunities for OWI

Requirements

Job Description

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of conference planning, including site selection, vendor negotiation, lodging, event registration, onsite staffing, and post-event reporting
  • Coordinate multiple national meetings, large-scale conferences, and events simultaneously
  • Design and manage the conference experience end-to-end, incorporating the latest technology and event management insights to create memorable event experiences
  • Develop detailed timelines related to all aspects of event planning and manage staff to ensure all events are executed flawlessly
  • Manage events budget, maintain margins, and provide financial reporting and forecasting
  • Oversee conference registration and continuously develop innovative ways of engaging with OWI event attendees

  • Design and implement an end-to-end strategy for creating, maintaining, and growing an educational platform for the identity space
  • Oversee development, content creation, and deployment of all educational offerings including webinars, publications, and online courses
  • Ensure all educational content and programs support the organizational strategy, are integrated with the business planning objectives, and create brand position; cultivate extensive knowledge of all programs, services, and ongoing initiatives

Job Description

  • Curate story ideas and develop original content to write news articles on identity-related topics, with a particular focus on the financial services and technology industries
  • Cover daily spot news as well as generate more insightful, long-form pieces on current topics of interest
  • Write a set minimum number of spot news and long-form pieces per week
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key contacts across the identity ecosystem in order to generate scoop, interviews, and other relevant new-related material with industry professionals
  • Attend industry-related events, cover market-related content, and contribute original insights across varying points of view
  • Discern news that is most relevant to OWI’s core demographic and develop point-of-views that attract the attention of the world’s most influential bankers, investors, advisors, policy makers, philanthropists, and innovators
  • Monitor daily feeds of industry-related news and collaborate with fellow journalists on stories that will best support OWI’s platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
