Indian payment startup Mswipe raises $10 million

The Series D extension funding round was led by B Capital, an investment firm from Facebook cofounder Eduardo Saverin. Mswipe’s latest round is now worth more than $40 million, and it has raised $65 million since it was founded in 2011. The company aims to broaden the availability of financial services in India with lightweight, affordable point-of-sale devices. [Read more]

Hypr gets $2 million from Mastercard

The Series A funding joins $8 million from RRE Ventures announced in October. Hypr offers decentralized authentication for mobile payment companies, financial institutions, banks, insurance companies and more. Data is stored on the consumer’s device, such as a smartphone, and requires them to authenticate with biometrics, PIN, or password to access data. [Read more]

Integrated Biometrics closes $2 million equity financing round

The private funds will help support the company’s rapid global growth, including increased production of its FBI-certified biometric fingerprint scanners. The company’s hardware ranges from single-finger to 10-finger sensors. The devices are known from for durability, compact design, and low power consumption. Integrated Biometrics is based in South Carolina and is on Inc. Magazine’s 5000 list for the 5,000 fastest growing publicly held small companies. [Read more]

VeriMe enters partnership with WeShop & Moin

The blockchain-based decentralized digital identity verification platform will partner with WeShop, an Asian cross-border retail import-buying facilitator, and Moin, a South Korean blockchain-based cross-border remittance service provider. VeriMe has about 15 partners in Vietnam piloting its know-your-customer and authentication products. Its goal is to provide KYC and authentication services across the region using blockchain.
