A global credit bureau required an audit of how NIST 800-63-3 Digital Identity Guidelines would impact existing and planned products across regulated industries. OWI was engaged to conduct a current state assessment of their product portfolio against NIST standards and to provide feature recommendations and complementary marketing activities.

The Action

One World Identity conducted a two-phase engagement to:

  • Perform a current state assessment and gap analysis in alignment with IAL2 requirements
  • Document gaps initial observations of product capabilities against peers/competitors
  • Determine product positioning related to NIST 800-63-3 requirements with a focus on standardization and defensibility across all agencies
  • Advise the client on marketing collateral and materials to highlight the business’ competitive differentiators in identity verification (IDV)

The Outcome

Our client received a current state assessment (CSA) with detailed recommendations for how their existing product(s) could be improved to meet updated NIST requirements. Our client was able to execute against a product roadmap which included product development, marketing, and targeted opportunities to create a competitive advantage. As a result of our engagement, our client passed an accreditation process against NIST 800-63-3 Digital Identity Guidelines and was selected by a large government program for their identity verification solutions.
